Jack Kellam (Cambridge University CC) and Zoe Burrell (Will Houghton Racing Team) came out on top at the Lea Valley CC 25-mile time trial event on Sunday morning in Essex.
Using the popular E1/25b course, the event was won by 27-year-old Kellam who was claiming his second win of the season. He finished in 53:22 which was 37 seconds quicker than his nearest rival.
Pete Dyson (East London Velo) took second in 53:59, 15 seconds better than third-placed espoir Jack Brown (Upshift Nutrition RT) who finished in 54:14.
Dyson has raced five times this year and has finished on the podium twice now, he will be hoping to make that three out of six next weekend where he is in action over a 50-mile course in Sussex.
In the women’s category it was 18-year-old Zoe Burrell who covered the course in 1:02:43.
Elspeth Grace (Cambridge University CC) was second with a time of 1:04:12, while Leena Poltonen (Clapham Chasers) trailed behind finishing in 1:11:01 to top the podium off.
Burrell has already tasted victory this season, having won the Hitchin Nomads 25 a fortnight earlier.
Andrew Turnock (Finsbury Park CC) was the fastest veteran, completing the course in a time of 55:02 to finish fourth overall.
The quickest junior rider of the day was 17-year-old Alfie Salmon (Lee Valley Youth CC), he clocked in at 57:01.
The course travels north up the B1383 up until the riders reach the roundabout at the A505, here they turn back and retrace the route until they reach the finish which is next to Quendon Woods.
