The prestigious Georgetown Cup was awarded to VC Glasgow South after the Velopreda 7.5-mile time trial at Inchinnan near Paisley on Saturday.
The tenth edition of the inter-club event was decided based on the fastest eight times from each club, and VC Glasgow South combined for a team time of 2-09-16, giving them victory by 1-25 from Nightingale CC, while the bronze medal went to Johnston Wheelers who were another two minutes behind.
Karl Farmer led the way for VC Glasgow South with a time of 15-32, while behind they had Steve MacLuskie (15-38), Sandy Wilson (16-00), Christopher Mellor (16-11), Christopher Watters (16-16), Andrew Smith (16-38), Jim Barr (16-40) and David Mylett (17-08).
The Ladies Cup went to the Ayr Roads CC team, whose combined time of 56-03 was just 11 seconds better than the Pro Endurance Coaching squad.
Aside from the Georgetown Cup, the solo prize went to Hans Forhaug (Glasgow United CC) who was overall fastest in 14-59, giving him the solo win by just four seconds from Jesse Dawson (Glasgow Nightingale CC), with Gary Bratt (Fruin Road Club) taking third.
Fastest of the women was veteran Donna McHugh (Pro Endurance Coaching0 in 17-14, which was 1-19 ahead of second fastest female Elizabeth Wisdish (Glasgow Wheelers), with Mirjam Allik (Glasgow Wheelers) just three seconds back in third.
Young Musselburgh RCC juvenile Cameron Adam did well to finish seventh overall in a time of 15-58.
And the Flying Scots category was won by Garry Latimer (Vanelli Project Go) in 17-17, 1-01 better than Velodreda’s own Fergus Brown, while Stewart Bryson (Nightingale CC) was third.
Top tandem was Warren and Sheena Crombie of Musselburgh RCC who clocked 17-34.
The event used the WW07/01 course which begins near the Inchinnan Industrial Estate and crosses the M8 motorway on the way out to Crosslee, before turning back for home.
