Kyle Gordon (RT 23) set a new course record despite unfavourable conditions in the Kennoway RC 10, while Sonya Drummond (Dundee Thistle) won the women’s event.
Gordon, aged 33, was taking part in his first open event since winning the National 50-mile Championships 22 months ago.
Despite strong wind conditions Gordon set a new benchmark time for the course of 18 minutes and 47 seconds.
The WE10/02 saw riders start on the A92 with a fast descent away from the start but a headwind prevented riders recording the usually high speeds over the opening five miles.
After five miles riders turned onto the A91 and then B937 before turning onto unclassified roads for the finish.
Gordon’s first outing of 2021 saw him take victory by a minute and 50 seconds.
Silas Goldsworthy (Ryan's Bike Surgery - Thomson Homes) finished second in the Fife Century RC 50 in June and had to settle for the runners-up spot again clocking 20-37.
Completing the top-three on a trip from the South of England up to Scotland was Charlie Gaimster (Dulwich Paragon CC) who finished the course in 21-44.
Quickest veteran on scratch was Thomas Fraser (Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA) in 21-55 which was 16 seconds quicker than Duncan Buchanan (Fife Century Road Club).
Meanwhile in the women’s event Drummond took victory clocking a winning time of 25 minutes and 32 seconds.
On her last outing Drummond was beaten into second in the Dundee Thistle 50 but took victory by 46 seconds this time out.
Finishing second was Fiona Davidson (Dundee Wheelers CC) who finished in 26-18.
