Arthur Franklin (Fulfil the Potential Racing) and Megan Dickerson (Skoda DSI Cycling Academy) took victories in the time trial event, while Oliver Bridgewood (Bath CC) and Amelia Mitchell (University of Bath CC) were road bike winners in the VC Bristol 10.
On his first outing of the season Franklin, who finished fifth in the National 100 Championship last season was on form dipping under the 21-minute mark with a finishing time of 20 minutes and 51 seconds.
Riders were greeted by cold conditions in Gloucestershire with the temperature around two to three degrees Celsius hampering times.
A cold northerly wind also slowed times on the 5.5-mile outward leg from Iron Acton along the B4058 to the turn at Charfield before riders picked up a tailwind for the 4.5-mile return leg.
Franklin ran out victor by 12 seconds ahead of Oscar Hutchings (Team Tor 2000/Kalas) while Ted Cross (University of Bristol CC) led the chase behind in third.
Paracyclist Will Bjergfelt (Aero Coach) was quickest veteran on scratch and standard with his time of 22-21 making a standard while Mark Bradley (Bristol South Cycling Club) was second on standard.
Dickerson, who also won the previous day in the FTP Racing 10, was in top spot again after overcoming some challenges winning the women’s time trial bike category in a time of 23-16.
Under-23 rider Tamsin Miller (Avid Sport) pushed Dickerson all the way but just came up short of victory taking second in 24-11 while veteran Joanna Knight (Bristol South CC) finished third (28-26).
“I punctured before the start so ended up changing that when I was meant to be warming up,” said Dickerson.
“Everything went wrong today. The race was on a B-road on a single carriageway so wasn’t a great surface, it was quite tough and lumpy.”
Meanwhile, in the road bike event Bridgewood took victory on his first outing of the season recording an average speed of almost 24.95 miles per hour and clocking 24-03.
A minute behind William Fussell (Thornbury CC) led the charge for the remaining podium positions taking second in 25-05 just 11 seconds quicker than James Harrison (Sodbury Cycle Sport).
The veteran’s category was dominated by Bath Cycling Club with David Stoyle (25-45) taking the win on standard ahead of team-mate Peter Philips.
University of Bath Cycling Club rider Mitchell was competing in her first open event since 2019 and recorded an average speed of over 22.64 miles per hour on her way to setting a time of 26-30.
Veteran Claire Gregory (Kingswood Tri Club) took second in 29-00 while Claire Mills (Sodbury Cycle Sport) took third 30-29.
