Members of Rose Race Team stormed to victory by over one and a half minutes in the Tuxford Clarion 3up TTT 25, while the Ilkeston Cycle Club trio won the women’s event.
George Thompson, Jack Levick and Billy Jarish formed the winning team with the trio covering the 25-mile course in 53 minutes and 30 seconds.
The A25/3 course saw riders start in Tuxford before heading down the B1164 through Weston to Sutton on Trent.
On a hot evening teams then headed back north on windy roads past Normanton on Trent before cutting back across and up the climb back into Tuxford for the finish.
Levick took his first open victory of the season the previous day in the LRRA 25 (Sleaford Wheelers) but showed no sign of tired legs as his team clocked an average speed of over 28 miles per hour on their way to victory.
Second place on the night was a composite team with all of the trio on ride bikes consisting of veteran Ian Russell (Moda Racing Team) juvenile Theo Simpson (Team Bottrill) and veteran Steven Barrell (Mapperley CC) finishing in 55-09.
Taking third place on the night was another composite team on road bikes consisting of veterans Matthew Uttley (Nottingham Clarion CC), Paul Duncan (Mid Shropshire Wheelers) and Philip Mitchell (Manchester Bicycle Club) with the trio clocking 57-01.
The quickest junior trio was Evander Wishart (Fenland Clarion), Lewis Smith (Calder Clarion) and Harry Tozer (Fenland Clarion CC) who recorded a time of 1-04-42.
Ilkeston Cycle Club were the winners of the women’s event with Catherine Hughes, Smudge Smith and Elizabeth Bridgen all combining to set a time of 1-07-44.
They finished ahead of composite trio Faith Chorley (Coalville Whs), Amanda Harvey (Ilkeston Cycle Club) and Larissa Chapman (Coalville Whs) with the trio clocking a time of 1-11-52.
