Chapeau! Vive Le Velo team-mates Adam Duggleby and Fiona Sharp were the fastest in the men’s and women’s event at the VTTA Notts & E.Mids 25
Meanwhile, Keith Ainsworth (Sheffrec CC) was quickest veteran on standard with a +19.24.
Duggleby, aged 36, from Leeds, took his fourth victory of the season in the men’s event with a season-best solo fastest time of 47 minutes and 18 seconds.
The A25/34 course saw riders start and finish near Newark-on-Trent before heading out and back to Cotgrave on the A46.
The day proved much better than forecast with only a little dampness early on and a light south easterly breeze across the course.
Coming into the event Oliver Peckover (UpShift Nutrition Race Team) had an unbeaten record this season of five wins in a row.
He would push Duggleby all the way but came up eight seconds short clocking 47-18.
Meanwhile, junior rider Josh Giddings finished third in 47-31 which was just three seconds short of the competition record.
Ainsworth comfortably took the award on standard time with +19:24 ahead of local rider Ian Guilor (Mapperley CC) in +17.44 also winning the Ivan Mahon Trophy for the best Nottingham and East Midlands VTTA member on Standard.
Third place on standard was Darren Yarwood (Chapeau! Vive Le Velo) who took third in +17.41.
Team Bottrill won the fastest team award on scratch with a combined time of 2-29-45 with Axel Dopfer (47-40), Neal Parkin (50-08) and Martin Garner (51-57) all contributing.
Team Bottrill were also the quickest time on standard with Geoff Platts (+17.24), Neal Parkin (+16.14) and Jennifer Clegg (+15.30) all part of the winning team.
Sharp, aged 42, from York, won the Rossington Wheelers 25 on her last outing and was again fastest woman clocking a time of 56-20.
Sarah Harrison (Sheffield Triathlon Club) was second quickest in 59-58 while Jo Corbett (Sherwood CC) finished third (1-03-21).
