John Archibald (Eolo Kometa) equalled the course record set a week earlier in the Macclesfield Wheelers 25, while Abi Smith (Team Breeze) took a single second off the women’s benchmark.
Archibald clocked a winning time of 47 minutes and 49 seconds, which was exactly the same as Ryan Mullen’s course record setting time last weekend.
The J2/9 course saw riders complete one-and-a-half laps of a square shaped course in the Cheshire countryside.
Riders started near Jodrell Bank before joining the A535 towards Chelford before joining the A537 to Ollerton before turning over to Toft and then the A50 back south through the finish.
Competitors then turned for the bottom part of the course at Cranage before cutting over to Twemlow Green and joining the A535 to complete the lap.
Archibald recorded an average speed of over 31.3 miles per hour to win the event by over four minutes.
The 30-year-old has already won the Northampton & District CA 15 and 25 already this season and took his third open time trial win of the season in comfortable fashion.
Alastair Ribbands (Manchester Wheelers) won the Crewe Clarion Wheelers 16.5 in May and recorded his seventh podium finish of the season finishing runner-up in 52-06.
Quickest veteran was Ady Dench (Team Sheffield) who finished third male in 55-03.
A further 20 seconds back was second veteran on scratch Dan Prescott (Wigan Whs CC) in 55-23 while Philip Kaye (Macclesfield Wheelers) was third in the age category (56-47).
Fastest junior was Oliver Smith (Macclesfield Wheelers) who finished the course in 57-14.
Under-23 rider Smith set a new women’s course record of 54 minutes and 40 seconds, a single second off Neah Evans’ previous mark set in June 2019.
On Smith’s last outing she finished fourth in the National Circuit Championships after already taking victories this season.
Smith’s time was also good enough for third fastest overall individual rider on the day.
Katherine Swithenbank (Bury Clarion CC) finished second in 1-04-22 while quickest veteran Ruth Gamwell (Macclesfield Wheelers) finished third overall.
Meanwhile, the Storey Racing women’s tandem pairing of Corrine Hall and Lora Fachie recorded the third fastest time of the day stopping the clock in 53-15.
