Steve Lampier took another victory for Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling in the Saint Piran 10, while Bexy Dew (Army Cycling) won the women’s event.
Lampier, from Helston, in Cornwall, last rode an open time trial in August 2018, but with a lack of road racing action he returned to take victory in a time of 20 minutes and 12 seconds.
His last event was on the same S6/10 course when Lampier won the Giant Helston 10 in 20-35 and he went 23 seconds quicker on this occasion to take the victory.
The S6/10 sees riders start at the start of the B3275 outside Tresillian before heading up the slightly uphill drag up through Ladock to the turn at Brighton before the more downhill return leg.
Lampier clocked an average speed of 29.7 miles per hour on his way to making a winning return.
He has also entered the Giant Helston 25 and Tavistock Wheelers 10 in September as he looks to continue his time trial campaign.
Veteran Gavin MacDougall (Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA) led the battle for second finishing in 20-40 which was just seven seconds quicker than Blake Pond (AeroCoach).
Junior rider Morgan Gibson (Mid Devon CC) put in a creditable ride to win his category and finish seventh overall in 22-17.
Taking part in her first ever open time trial Dew took victory in the women’s event clocking 25-29.
A close battle for the remaining podium places saw junior rider Hannah Rainger (Propello) clock 25-38 for second while Rebecca Stobart (Tri Logic Cornwall) finished third just three seconds further back.
