Aerolab Ward Wheelz team-mates Sebastian Garry and Michael Gill battled against windy conditions to clinch top spot in the Sheffrec CC 2-up team time trial in South Yorkshire.

The under-23 riders clocked a winning time of 51 minutes and 10 seconds over the 25-mile course which was two minutes quicker than their closest rivals.

The O25/11 course is a deceptively tough one with a tough wind and some undulation on part of the route near Doncaster.

Riders start near Hatfield before completing an opening out and back section on the A18 in the opening 13 miles.

Riders then turn south onto the A614 on the second out and back section to complete the 25 miles distance.

In the same event last season Garry finished second with Ollie Hucks but went one better on this occasion with new team-mate Gill.

Hucks also now riding for Aerolab Ward Wheelz was joined by Sam Hucks (High Wycombe CC) and had to settle for second again in a time of 53.10.

They were pushed all the way for second by eventual third placed finishers Liam Bromiley and Andrew Whiteley (Team Lifting Gear Products/ Cycles in Motion) just 12 seconds back in 53.22.

The women’s winners were Madeline Moore (TORQ Performance) and Eleanor Williams (Vitfor OTE) who clocked one hour, four minutes and three seconds.
