Will Perrett and Francesca Hall were fastest male and female riders respectively at the East District CA 10-mile time trial in Norfolk on Sunday afternoon.
Perrett, the 23-year-old Derby-based rider with AeroLab Ward WheelZ, showed the kind of form that helped his form part of the winning Team Pursuit squad at the National Track Championships in January with an impressive time of 19-24.
That was just two seconds quicker than his nearest rival Jason Bouttell (Team Vision Racing) who had earlier that day won the Essex Roads CC 24-mile event. Perrett’s team-mate, Zach Herrod was 30 seconds behind Perrett in third to complete the podium.
Hall (Team Boompods) clocked 21-48 to win the women’s category by almost a minute from Mathilde Pauls (1904RT) who clocked 22-44, while third was Kerry Tate (Newmarket C&TC) in 25-13.
The B10/37r course takes riders from the start just south of Tottenhill down the A10 to the outskirts of Downham Market near Bexwell before turning east and joining the A134 for the ride back north to the finish.
Matthew Senter (Peterborough CC) was the fastest veteran with 20-23, 14 seconds ahead of second-placed rider in that category, Nick Partridge (VC Baracchi).
Isabella Johnson (Datalynx-Paranesis Cycling) clocked 25-21 to finish as fastest junior, while the juvenile prize went to Fenland Clarion’s Harry Tozer with 29-35.
And fastest tandem trike was the Lincoln Wheelers duo of Lauren and Ian Pike in 23-38, while best tandem was Mark Fraser (City Cycle Centre) and Anna Fraser (CC Ashwell0 in 24-29.
