Penzance Wheelers were victorious in their own club’s three-up 15-mile time trial in Cornwall on Wednesday evening.
The trio of Sandy Gourley, Kevin Dawson and Anthony Green clocked 30-17 to take victory over the S6/15 course on the A39 at Tresillian near Truro in Cornwall by 1-33 from the composite team made up of Leon Malpas (Penzance Wheelers), Darren Manyon (Wheal Velocity), and Brian Hennessey (BCR Racing).
Third fastest team was another composite trio with a time of 33-16 being clocked by Peter Maker (St Austell Wheelers), Peter Blackshaw (Penzance Wheelers), and Edward Trezona-Phillips (Giant Helston).
Their time was just one second ahead of fourth-placed team of Taw Velo’s Rebecca Cornwell and Ryan Kingdon, who teamed up with Nick Harwood of Revo Racing.
Elsewhere in the event, the first team with a juvenile was Jack Wilson and Jake Rowell of Wheal Velocity, who rode with Liam Rowe (Tri Logic Cornwall) and covered the course in 34-37.
The fastest all female team was Angharad Berriman (Penzance Wheelers), Rose Willis (St Austell Wheelers) and Martina Geraghty (Penzance Wheelers) with 35-01, which was more than a minute quicker than another all-female team of Rebecca Stobart (Tri Logic Cornwall), Rachel Vague (One and All Cycling) and Anna Cullen (Tri Logic Cornwall).
