Anna Cullen and Tom Nancarrow finished top of the timesheets in the Penzance Wheelers 10-mile time trial in Cornwall on Sunday morning.

Tom Nancarrow (Nopinz) powered to his first open event win of the season by a mere four seconds ahead of second place.

Nancarrow has been consistent if anything since his CTT record started, even if wins have been scarce. Without a win in his past ten events, the 20-year-old has averaged a placing of fourth but his time of 21-20 was enough to break the duck.

The Nopinz rider finished ahead of Sandy Gourley, topping the time of 21-24 the home club rider posted early in the day.

Gourley hasn’t won since 2017 but like Nancarrow, has remained consistent taking nine podiums in his 11 events last season.

James Grogan (www.giant-helston.co.uk) was third in 22-09.

Anna Cullen (Tri Logic Cornwall) topped the women’s category in compelling fashion.

The 44-year-old from Mullion, Cornwall, crossed the line in 45-03 to finish over a minute better than her nearest category rival.

That rival was home club rider Angharad Berriman who clocked 46-23 with Rose Willis (St Austell Wheelers CC) not far behind in third.
