Tim McEvoy

Rose Willis and Tim McEvoy were the fastest male and female respectively at the Lanhydrock Wheelers 25-mile time trial near Bodmin on Sunday morning.

Willis (St Austell Wheelers CC) clocked a time of 1-05-30 to be the fastest female over the 25 miles.

This was the Cornish rider’s first win of the 2019 open season, having previously finished second at the City Cycle Couriers RT 10 in mid-February.

The 44-year-old regularly finished on the podium last campaign and will be hoping to continue her fine form over the coming weeks.

Event organiser Tim McEvoy (Lanhydrock Wheelers) clocked a time of 50-37 to set the fastest time overall.

This was his first open victory of the season after winning numerous events over the course of 2018, most notably topping the podium at the St Austell Wheelers 20.4 in March.

Second place was cliched by Sandy Gourley (Penzance Wheelers CC) who finished his run with a time of 52-57.

This was Gourley’s first event of the 2019 season, thus being his first podium finish. The 43-year-old finished on the podium numerous times last year, last claiming second place at the Giant Helston 10 in August.

Rob Scott (City Cycle Couriers RT) claimed the final step on the podium as he clocked a time of 54-07.

He adds this podium finish to the victory he achieved at the Plymouth Corinthian CC 13 last weekend and the second placed finish he achieved at the City Cycle Couriers RT 10 in February.
