Lauren Dolan and Josh Coyne triumphed in their first outing of the 2019 season at the City Cycle Couriers 10-mile time trial in Devon on Sunday morning.

Josh Coyne (BPM Coaching) kicked off his season in fine fashion taking victory in the men’s category with a time of 21-03, eight seconds the better of his nearest rivals.

Coyne, 23, adorned the podium eight times in 2018, two of those being on the top step with wins coming in hill-climbing events in October.

In his last run out, Coyne was beaten by Dean Robson and Rob Scott. However, this time the BPM Coaching rider got the better of Scott who had to settle for second.

Event organiser Rob Scott (City Cycle Couriers RT) made it two second place finishes in as many races but wasn’t alone in claiming a silver medal.

Mid Devon CC veteran Ian Cullen matched the time set earlier by Scott to finish joint-second with both clocking 21-11.

Josh Coyne

Lauren Dolan (Mid Devon CC) has a knack of placing her feet on podium steps. The 19-year-old is a former National Circuit Champion, taking the title back in 2017.

Dolan claimed eight podiums akin to Josh Coyne last season but 75% of those were as time trial winner.

She will be pleased to start where she left off with a dominant victory, posting a time of 22-21, over three minutes ahead of her nearest competitor and good enough for sixth place in the overall standings.

Rose Willis (St Austell Wheelers) finished second while Martina Geraghty (Penzance Wheelers) completed the podium in third.
