Phil Williams

Phil Williams and Jessica Evans topped the podium at the Fibrax Wrexham RC hilly 32-mile time trial in Denbighshire on Sunday morning.

Williams (Liverpool Phoenix CC) clocked a time of 1-16-08 to set the fastest time by any rider on the day as they tackled the tough Horseshoe Pass climb near Llangollen.

The Liverpool Phoenix rider adds this victory to the one that he achieved at the Sigma Sports Classic Series 37-mile time trial at the beginning of April.

Jessica Evans (ASSOS Equipe UK) clocked a time of 1-39-31 to top the podium as the fastest female.

The time trailing ace adds this victory to the second-place finish in which she achieved at the Manchester & District TTA 10 in March of this year.

Jessica Evans

Evans is next due to compete at the Welsh Championship 25-mile time trial next weekend and will be hoping to continue her fine form.

George Evans finished his run in a time of 1-17-02 to claim the second spot on the podium.

This is Evans’ second podium finish of the season after finishing second at the Icknield RC 30km at the start of April.

Third place went to former national hill-climb champion Dan Evans (Assos Equipe UK) who finished his run in a time of 1-18-04. Evans is also due to compete next weekend at the Welsh Championships, alongside his wife Jessica.

The course saw the riders combat an array of climbs, passing through Llanelidan, Gwyddelwern and Bryneglwys before making their way back towards the finish.
