Kay Burgess and Daniel Bloy gave Team Velovelocity wins in two categories as both topped the Wisbech Wheelers 25-mile timesheets on Sunday morning.
The field may have been a small one but Daniel Bloy (Team Velovelocity) left nothing to chance, his time of 52-44 beating the earlier time of 53-54 set by Kevin Hobbs (Peterborough CC).
Bloy covered the allotted distance in 52-44, 1-10 ahead of Hobbs in his first win in an otherwise consistent season despite a lack of wins until now.
Hobbs, 49, powered to his first podium in five events and will be looking to maintain that form with events lined up in the coming weeks. Jon Surtees (CES Sport) equalled his best result of the year in third. His time of 54-47 comfortably slotted him into the major placings.
Kay Burgess (Team Velovelocity) crossed the line ahead of Team Bottrill’s Sarah Senderski for a maiden open victory this season.
In only her second start of the year (her first being a second place at the start of April) Burgess has opened her 2019 account where her previous season left off.
She clocked 1-03-28, finishing 28 seconds ahead of Senderski in second Wisbech Wheelers’ Jemma Redhead in third who finished in 1-11-29.
