Chanel Mason and Lloyd Chapman powered to their second victories of the year in the Kings Lynn CC 25-mile time trial in Norfolk on Saturday afternoon.
Plomesgate CC rider Chapman returned to the top step of the podium after missing out by four seconds in his last open event.
The Suffolk-based man who will turn 30 this year didn’t leave the result to fine margins, carving out over a minute to second-placed rider Daniel Bloy with Chapman posting a time of 53-58.
Bloy (Team Velovelocity) crossed the line in 55-02 to see him have his best result of the short season so far, looking to equal his three wins from 2018.
Bloy’s team-mate Stuart Fairweather has performed well over 10-mile events in his start to the season with a victory to his name already but had to settle for a third place on the 25-mile course in 55-10.
Chanel Mason (Storey Racing) stormed to an emphatic victory in the women’s category.
The win sees her 2019 record present with a 100% win rate with two wins from two. Her win with a time of 1-01-42 and gap of 5-44 to second place trumping that of an already strong 46 second victory in her first win.
Mason also featured in the Diss & District CC 25 on Sunday.
Kay Burgess assured Team Velovelocity would feature in both main categories, finishing second with a time of 1-07-26.
