Jennifer Newbery made her maiden event of the season a memorable one, while Liam Bromiley maintained form, winning the Birdwell Wheelers 25-mile time trial on Saturday.
Bromiley made the most of some fine wather to take a clear victory on the roads near Doncaster, his second in as many races.
Three events into his 2019 season, a sixth place in a two-up has now been followed by two consecutive victories, this time by a margin of 51 seconds, posting a time of 52-18.
Recording only one win in open events in 2018, Bromiley has made an assertive start to the new season and will no doubt be looking to maintain it in the coming months.
Nicholas Latimer (B38/Cycles in Motion) powered to his best result of the season after three events, crossing the line in 55-09 for second spot while Nick Moore (uk-featherflags) rounded off the podium – a 54-16 landing him third fastest.
Jennifer Newbery (Manx Road Club) made what is likely her first CTT open event start, and made it a memorable one, claiming 25-mile victory. Only 15 seconds separated her from second place but 1-05-10 was enough to take the top step for Newbery.
Sarah Harrison (Sheffield Triathlon Club) was second in 1-05-25 with Maria Mulleady (Team Swift) a further 15 seconds adrift in third.
Team Bottrill’s Julian Ramsbottom was fastest veteran on the day. The 47-year-old clocked a 55-22 finishing in fifth overall.
