Allen scoops up first win as Dickerson continues fine start to 2019 in the Dursley RC 10-mile time trial.
Third time lucky rang true for Hayden Allen (THRE Datawolves RT) on Saturday morning as he claimed his first victory of the season.
A second place finish in Coalville Wheelers 10-mile followed by a drop to third last weekend in Rossendale RC’s 11-mile event could have left Allen thinking ‘if’ rather than ‘when’ but the 24-year-old time of 20-33 gave him a 13-second gap to Ross Phelps for the win.
Phelps (Bristol Road Club) clocked a time of 20-46 to hold onto a podium spot, his first of the season while Felix Wilkinson (Velo Club Montpellier) could be miffed with third place after winning last weekend’s Severn RC 12.3.
Megan Dickerson (Bristol South CC) powered her way to the top step of the podium for a hat-trick of wins in 2019.
A time of 22-33 and an overall top-10 finish to boot, Dickerson has started the season in unrivalled form.
Megan dominated the field with her nearest competitor, Elizabeth Pressage over two minutes down in 24-57.
Dickerson’s team-mate Joanna Knight came third in 26-36.
