Charlotte Boothman

Richard Bideau and Charlotte Boothman were the fastest male and female respectively at the Border City Wheelers 17-mile time trial near Carlisle on Sunday morning.

Bideau (Pendle Forest CC) clocked a time of 33-04 to claim the top step of the podium by a margin of over a minute.

This was the 48-year-old’s fourth open victory of the season after winning every event he has entered this calendar year, most notably winning the North Lancs RC 30 at the beginning of March.

Charlotte Boothman (ABC Centreville) finished her run with a time of 39-49 to be crowned the fastest female rider.

This was Boothman’s second open victory of the season, after also topping the podium at the North Lancs RC 30 at the beginning of March.

Second place overall was claimed by Richard Bickley (Border City Wheelers CC) who finished his run with a time of 34-11. This was the home club rider’s second podium finish of the season after also finishing second at the Border City Wheelers 20 at the end of March.

Bickley will be hoping to build on this performance and claim more podium finishes throughout the new season.

44-year-old Craig Horseman (Beacon Wheelers) finished with a time of 34-56 to claim the final step on the podium.

Horseman last achieved a podium finish at the Border City Wheelers 10 in July last year and also finished 12th at the National 100 Mile Championship in the same month.
