Owen Burgess and Aimee Lane topped the podium as the fastest male and female respectively over the 10-mile course at the Cardiff 100 Miles 10 RCC event that took place near Llantwit Major in Glamorgan on New Year’s Day.
Burgess (Newport Phoenix CC) clocked a time of 22-23 to clinch the top prize.
The 35-year-old last achieved a podium finish at the Sportzmad 10 in March 2019 and will be hoping that this victory will spur him on to achieve more in the new season.
James Grandfield (Pedalcover Insurance) finished in second after clocking a time of 23-04.
Grandfield was last on the podium at the Port Talbot Wheelers two-up as part of a pairing with Craig Burrows, in which they finished third.
Craig Burrows (Pedalcover Insurance) was the man to finish in third as he clocked a time of 23-33 respectively.
Aimee Lane (Wyre Forest Cycle Racing Club) finished as the fastest overall junior and female as she clocked a time of 26-59.
The junior rider most recently finished ninth at the National Closed Circuit Junior Championship and will be looking to continue her success in to 2020.
Geoffrey Hewett (Ogmore Valley Wheelers) finished as the fastest rider on a road bike after finishing his run with a time of 31-05.
Felix Whetter (St Austell Wheelers CC) was the fastest junior on a road bike after finishing his run with a time of 27-16, while Steve Cottingham and Iain Cade (Bath Cycling Club) topped the podium as the fastest two-up pairing after finishing their run in 23-36.
