Dan Martin and Rebecca Wilson started their year on a high as they finished as the fastest male and female respectively at the Southborough & District Wheelers 10-mile time trial that took place near Hamstreet in Kent.
Martin (University of Derby CC) finished as the fastest rider overall after clocking a time of 20-10.
The 21-year-old last achieved a podium finish at the Thanet RC 10 on New Year’s Day in 2019 and will be hoping to continue his winning form into the new season.
Rebecca Wilson (Rye & District Wheelers CC) finished her run with a time of 24-21 to finish the event as the fastest overall female.
The 55-year-old from Hastings last topped the podium at the VTTA Kent 15 in mid-October as well as achieving a seventh place finish at the National 24-hour Championship in July, and will be hoping that the new year brings her more success.
Tom Rowing (Abellio – SFA Racing Team) was the man to finish in second after finishing his run with a time of 20-48.
Rowing was last on the podium at the Wigmore CC hill climb at the end of September in which he finished in second.
Joshua Clark (Royal Navy & Royal Marines CA) completed the podium as he clocked a time of 21-12 respectively.
