Colin Ward (Essex Roads CC) added another victory to his growing list with a convincing ride in the shortened Lee Valley CC time trial held over 25 miles.
Roadworks which appeared on the main stretch of the course on Saturday night meant that the sporting course was reduced from 30 to 25 miles.
The E/30 course saw riders complete an out and back route starting north of Bishop’s Stortford starting on the B1383 before joining the A1301 before turning for home.
The sporting course sees riders compete over several hills, tight corners and roundabouts to navigate on their way around.
Scratch rider Ward, from Basildon in Essex, has won a host of events this season including those on sporting courses.
Ward also won the same event last year setting a course record of 1:01.27 over the full 30-mile course.
Over the shorter course Ward set a winning time of 52 minutes and 43 seconds.
Paul Hart (Southend Wheelers) had to settle for second in 53.19 while Paul Pardoe (Peterborough CC) took third in 53.51.
