Ashley Cox and Helen McKay topped the podium as fastest male and female respectively at the Bishops Stortford CC 10-mile time trial that took place near Ugley in Essex on Saturday afternoon.

Cox (Flamme Rouge Cycling Team) topped the podium in the men’s event after finishing his run with a time of 20-19.

The second spot on the podium went to Andrew Hastings (Haste CC) who finished his 10.2 miles with a time of 21-01. And Felix Barker (ActiveEdge RT) was third, another 13 seconds back.

Helen McKay (Les Filles RT) finished her run with a time of 23-30 to top the podium in the women’s event.

McKay recently finished third at the RTTC National Circuit Championship and will be hoping for more success next weekend when she rides at the Redmon CC two-up 19.7.

36-year-old Cox was last victorious at the Welwyn Wheelers CC Hilly 50km in mid-March and will be looking to add more positive results to his record over the coming weeks. Cox is next set to ride at the Cambridge CC 15 next weekend.

In other categories Andy Stuart (Velo Club St Raphael) finished his run with a time of 22-38 to finish as the fastest veteran rider.
