Stuart Fairweather and Zena Palgrave were fastest male and female riders respectively at VC Norwich staged a 10-mile time trial near Morley in Norfolk on Saturday afternoon.
Fairweather, 41 and from Woodbridge in Suffolk, clocked 19-18 to win the event by 29 seconds from Ipswich BC rival Joe Spaulding, while Jorge Vieira (Team Pedal Revolution) was third, 59 seconds behind Fairweather.
Fastest of the women was Zena Palgrave (Ely and District CC) whose time of 24-18 gave her victory in that category by 1-13 from Team Swift’s Sally Withey, while Karen Dennett (Bishop’s Stortford CC) was another nine seconds back in third.
It was not the first time this season Fairweather has tasted victory. He also won the Stowmarket and District CC 10 in July, as well as the Godric CC 10 in June, the Wolsey RC 25 in April and the Plomesgate CC 10 in March.
For Palgrave, this was her first open win on record having ridden the Shaftesbury CC 50 and East District CA 100 last month.
The B10/3b course starts near Attleborough and heads down the A11 to near Snetterton, before heading back up to the finish on the far side of Attleborough, near Besthorpe.
