Christopher McNamara made it four wins on the trot with a fine ride in the 10-mile Crawley Wheelers event in Steyning on Saturday. Katie Simmonds was in fine form as she took victory in the women’s category.
The Nuun-Sigma Sport rider blasted the course in 19.31 to take his latest top spot in what has been a successful season for the 43-year-old.
It was a winning margin of 1.09 for McNamara with home club rider Mark Smith second in 20.22.
Glasgow Green CC rider Luke Maguire just missed out on second prize by a second, he had to settle for the final step on the podium in 20.23.
Katie Simmonds took a convincing win in the women’s category, the Horsham Cycling rider clocking a time of 24.44 to take the win.
Gemma Hobson of Sussex Nomads CC was second in 26.25, 1.36 down on Simmonds. And Crawley Wheelers got a rider on the women’s podium too with Mandy Border 20 seconds down on Hobson in 26.45 to take third.
