Paul Lockyer won the Bournemouth Arrow CC 10-mile event by eight seconds no Saturday as New Forest CC scored a one-two with Antony Green in second.
Lockyer’s time of 21.12 was enough to give him the win with his veteran team mate, Green, finishing in 21.20.
Another veteran, Fareham Wheelers’ Neil Mackley rounded out the top three with a time of 21.38 – 18 seconds down on Green.
For Lockyer, it was his second podium finish in as many events with him finishing as runner-up in the Sotonia CC time trial at the end of July.
Second place equals Green’s previous best this year, with him also finishing second in the Alton CC 10 in June.
Home club rider Louisa Cooper was the fastest woman on the day – she was 18th overall of the 30 riders in a time of 24.38.
Just 14 seconds off the pace of Cooper was Kirsty Mcseveney, taking second place in the women’s category with a time of 24.52. Lizzy Stocker completed the top three, the IRIS RT rider clocking a time of 25.46.
