Kirsty Bramley and Richard Dean were celebrating victories in the Rockingham CC 25 on Saturday, staged near Boroughbridge in North Yorkshire.
Bramley, 43 and from York, covered the V235 course in 1-01-22 to give the Team Swift rider victory by almost eight minutes from second fastest female, Jo Short of Darlington CC.
And Richard Dean (Cyclomania) was the overall fastest, covering the course in 52-33 to take the win by just over two minutes from Team Swift veteran Mark Wolstenholme, while Steve Smales (Harrogate Nova CC) was third, another couple of minutes off the pace.
Dean, 39 and from Cudworth near Barnsley, clocked one of his fastest times on the V235 for several years. The course uses the A168 and heads down to a turn near Hunsingore then tracked back up to another turn just before Boroughbridge then tracked back down to the finish for a second lap.
Dean placed fourth in both the Selby CC 10 in May as well as the Ravensthorpe CC 10 on April, and was fifth in the Yorkshire CF 10 and sixth in the Otley CC 10 in April.
“I like this course, and I’m feeling a lot stronger this year,” said Dean, who set a new course PB in the event.
“I knew I needed to ride at 28mph to do a course PB, and I did 28.6, so I’m happy as I felt good.
“I really went for it on the second lap. If I blew I blew, but I took the chance and it turned out OK. It’s a great course – there’s not many cars and it’s a pretty good surface with no pot holes.”
Kirsty Bramley is a prolific time trial rider, having taken part in 11 open events so far this season and won five of them.
As well as this most recent victory, Bramley was also victorious in the Sheffrec CC 25 last month, while in April she won the Birdwell Wheelers 25 and 10 as well as the VTTA (Yorkshire) 25.
