Katie Greves.

Ed Bradbury and Katie Greves were fastest male and female riders respectively as the High Wycombe CC staged a 10-mile time trial in Buckinghamshire on Good Friday.

JLT Condor professional Bradbury, 25 and from London, clocked 18.42 to win by 23 seconds from Liam Maybank (Twickenham CC), while third spot went to Hadyn James (Velolife) who was another three seconds back.

Katie Greves (AS Test Team) was a convincing winner of the women’s category. The 35-year-old from Wallingford covered the H10/22 course in 21.40 to win the category by more than a minute with Karla Boddy (Les Filles RT) second, 1-02 back, while Danuta Tinn (Maidenhead & Dist CC) was third with 22-55.

Greves, who was third in last year’s event, was two seconds slower than 12 months previously but did enough to take the win.

It was the second time in recent weeks that Bradbury has left Maybank to settle for second spot, following victory in the Kingston Wheelers 13.6-mile event on February 18. On that occasion Bradbury was 55 seconds ahead. Third in the Kingston event, Pat Wright (Paceline RT) had to settle for fourth in the High Wycombe CC event.

Following his win, Bradbury is also looking to make it an Easter weekend double with a ride in the Bishop’s Stortford CC hilly 25 on Easter Monday.

And Greves is also planning a busy Easter, having entered the Merthyr CC 25 on the fast Rhigos course in South Wales on Sunday, as well as the Oxonian CC 36 the following weekend.

The out and back course starts to the north east of Marlow and heads down the A404 to a turn at the junction with the A4 west of Maidenhead, finishing just short of the start point.
