Christopher Fennell was fastest of the 52-strong field at the 10-mile West Kent RC event held in Harrietsham on Saturday, the Independent Pedaler rider clocking a time of 20.14.

PMR@Toachim House’s Neil Lauder’s time of 20.38 was enough to give him second place, 24 seconds down on Fennell’s time.

Another Fennell, Christopher’s brother Nicholas, completed the top three. The Thanet RC rider was just 26 seconds down on his brother’s time in 20.40.

In fourth place, Mike Piper of Abellio - SFA RT was the fastest veteran in 21.18. The field was mostly made up of veterans, making it a very competitive category.

Second fastest was fifth-placed Andrew Meliak of VeloRefined.com Aerosmiths in 21.32 and third was Nik Allen of Worthing Excelsior CC in 21.36.

All of the top three female riders were of Folkestone Velo Club and Charmaine Pullen won the women’s prize with a time of 26.00 giving her 37th place overall.

Team mates Susan Walbrook and Tracy Wilkinson-Begg were second and third respectively with Susan stopping the clock at 26.49 and Tracy coming in at 27.11.
