Marcin Bialoblocki (NOPINZ) clocked the third fastest 50-mile time ever on his way to victory in the Lovelo Racing 50-mile time trial in Buckinghamshire on Bank Holiday Monday.

The 34-year-old Polish international clocked 1-34-58 on the new F13/50 course near Waddesdon, beating F13/25 course record holder Stuart Travis (Team Bottrill-Vanguard) by around six minutes, while Ross Clarke (TMG Horizon) was third.

Only new competition record holder Paul Hart and former competition record holder Matt Bottrill have gone faster, and Bialoblocki’s time was just 22 seconds away from setting a new record.

In the women’s race an outstanding ride by Sigma Sport’s Rosamund Bradbury missed out by only two seconds from Michelle Lee of Royal Forest Dean CC despite being on a road bike, and beating Gill Fullen (St Neots CC) who came third.

Despite the grippy course and humid conditions which saw a misty start, Chris Manko from Team MK put in an impressive 1:49:49 in his first 50 to win the male novice category, although Bialoblocki was also a novice but ineligible under the ‘one rider one prize’ rule.

The women’s novice was also won in a similar fashion as Rosamund Bradbury had also taken a step on the podium, by Susan Brant of Mickey Cranks CC.

The team category was won by only two seconds by Icknield RC from SpeedHub, despite their rider including Andy Martin, who won the most improved rider competition taking 7 minutes 58 seconds from his LTS.
