Bevan Jones of Team Sportslab won a hotly-contested Lindsey Roads event on Saturday, winning by just four seconds.
The 18-year-old averaged almost 30mph over the 10-mile course in Great Limber as he went on to record a time of 20.26. It was his first victory of the season.
Lincoln Wheelers’ Billy Jarish was second, just four seconds off the pace of Jones in a time of 20.30 and completing the podium was another promising rider, 21-year-old Jack Levick of Tuxford Clarion CC in 20.43.
In fourth place and first veteran was Vive Le Velo’s Darren Yarwood, 17 seconds off third in a time of 21.00.
Stuart Wells of Flex-Tech Ettridge Cycles RT was second quickest veteran in 21.15 and third was home club rider Andy Thomas, seventh overall with 21.40.
Veteran Amersham Road CC rider Joy Payne topped the women’s podium, 26th overall in 25.18. Lindsey Road Club’s Caroline Frank was on the second step of the women’s podium stopping the clock in 26.36. Tracey Wilkinson of Alford Wheelers was third fastest woman in 27.19.
