GTR - Return to Life had hoped for a home victory in the 32-mile 4-up event, but the quartet from Dooleys RT powered their way through the hilly course to take the win.
Gavin Shirley, Alastair McNicol, Aidan Quinn and Ross Clark (Dooleys RT) were the riders that took the top step of the podium after crossing the line just outside of Ballaculish in a time of 1-10-19.
The Scottish Championship was the prize on offer in the Highlands but home club GTR – Return to Life had to settle for second place as they were beat by 1-36 after posting a 1-11-45.
Prolific GTR riders Douglas Watson and Arthur Doyle were joined by Gordon Murdoch and Lewis Duff in the second-placed ride and all apart from Doyle will be featuring in round four of the Knight Composites Classic Series on Sunday.
Neil Mitchell, Enda Williamson, Joshua Higgins and Rory Porteous completed the top three with a time of 1-16-33 for the Road Club Cumbernauld & Kilsyth team.
The only all-female team running came in the shape of the Dooleys RT outfit again. The trio of Laura Nicolson, Mireille Captieux and Janet Tait dug in and managed an eighth-placed finish despite being a rider short after Lynsey Curran didn’t start. The trio posted a time of 1-27-56.
The WW34/01 course runs along the coast on the A828 and features many testing elevations, the most notable being around 10 and 20 miles into the race with a sharp climb and descent.
