Mike Morris (NFTO Race Club) and David Huck (Barrow Central Wheelers) took victories in the Lancaster CC hill climbs on the Conder Bottom and Jubilee Tower climbs.
Morris, from Conwy, celebrated his 27th birthday earlier in the week and was on fine form during the opening Conder Bottoms climb.
The 0.5-mile climb goes up in steep ramps towards the River Conder and has a course record of 1:37.2 set by Jack Pullar.
Morris went agonisingly close to the record stopping the clock in 1:38.3 to clinch victory.
Huck took second in 1:40.1 while veteran rider Niall Paterson (Velo Club Cumbria) took third in 1:46.5.
Each of the stages were treated as a separate event and Huck reversed the first event result over the longer Jubilee Tower over 1.75 miles.
Scratch rider Huck clocked a winning time of 7:59.2 despite a strong head-wind which put Tejvan Pettinger’s course record of 6:57.0 out of reach.
After his earlier heroics Morris settled for second in 8:21.5, while junior rider James Noonan (Hoppers Rollers) finished third in 8:38.7.
Veteran rider Susan Paterson (Honister 92) clinched both victories in the women’s category.
