Phil Murphy (Total Tri Training) and Hannah Macdonald (Liverpool Century RC) battled to category victories on a tough day in Shropshire for the Chester RC 50.
Murphy who finished second in the Chester RC 25 using the same roads in June went one better on this occasion to clinch victory in one hour, 53 minutes and 49 seconds.
The D50/3R course saw riders travel on main roads from Whitchurch to Market Drayton and down to Trench before making the return journey.
Despite not getting the rain many others did across the country, riders did have to battle against strong winds which hampered times.
Veteran rider Barry Charlton (Swinnerton Cycles) came closest to Murphy finishing second just over 30 seconds behind in 1:54.21 ahead of Paul David Fleming (Preston Whls) in third clocking 1:55.15.
Macdonald headed a Liverpool Century one-two in the women’s category finishing in 2:05.47, ahead of team-mate Kate Giddings who finished in 2:17.57.
Fastest team on the day were Liverpool Phoenix in a combined time of 5:59.54.
