Liverpool Phoenix team power to 4-up win
A Liverpool Phoenix team took victory in a 50km four-up on Sunday, winning the Shropshire CCA event starting at The Lamb at Edgmond.
Edward Chilton, Toby Williams, Arthur Winstanley and Neil Hughes combined well to blaze round the course in 1:09.51 and top the podium.
Nova Raiders had a number of teams entered but it was their A-team of Andy Rose, Matt Gibbons, Ed Middleton and Tim Beardmore who just missed out on top spot, having to settle for second with a time of 1:10.08. But they won the John Farr four-up Trophy for the fastest SCCA affiliated team.
On the third step of the podium, it was the Stourbridge Velo team made up Mike Anslow, Rob Kennard, Mat Cooper and Darren Shaw. They completed in 1:12.06.
There was also a prize for the fastest team with at least two women, and that went to Market Drayton CC/Vision Racing.
