Simon Wilson claimed the Eddie Leece Memorial Trophy with overall victory at the Lancashire RC 25 on Sunday, whilst host club rider Erica Booth was the fastest woman.
The field of riders took to the L2521a course on the west coast, completing two laps of the circuit starting and ending near the village of Winmarleigh.
Wilson was amongst the later starters and he put in a strong display to post an unassailable time of 52.14 to take the £25 prize and the trophy.
The Brother NRG Wattshop rider came out a comfortable winner in the end by a margin of 55 seconds.
Wilson has been a regular at the top of the podium in 2017 with a number of individual wins, as well as being part of the victorious 3-up trio, along with Dan Bigham and Charlie Tanfield, that claimed the National Team Time Trial title last month.
Second place went to Springfield Financial RT rider Tom Rigby, whilst Stephen Irwin (North Lancs RC) completed the top three, and was first of the veterans in the over 40s category.
In the women’s competition, Erica Booth claimed victory for the hosting club Lancashire RC.
The 38-year-old Booth from Chorley took the win in a time of 1:01.39 and a sizable winning margin of nearly two minutes ahead of nearest challenger Charlotte Gorman (Team Lusso).
The duo were also the top two at Lancashire RC’s 10-mile event just a couple of months ago, Booth also coming out top on the A6 course just a couple of miles east of Sunday’s circuit.
There was an impressive performance by junior rider Andrew Hathaway, a time of 58.45 saw the BodyTorq Racing youngster claim a place inside the top.
