Daniel Barnett and Karen Ledger were the overall winners at the VTTA Yorkshire 10-mile event at South Cave on Saturday.
The veteran riders took centre stage as another event took place on the fast V718 course in East Yorkshire with 131 finishers looking to post quick times.
In both the men’s and women’s competitions, it was riders from Team Bottrill/HSS Hire that were in control throughout the day.
Daniel Barnett made it two wins in consecutive weekends, adding this result to his victory at the Sleaford Wheelers CC 25 six days ago.
The Nottingham rider clocked a time of 18.38, giving him a slender four second advantage over team-mate Peter Lawrence from Aylesbury. Gavin Hinxman completed the podium, the Drag2Zero rider was a further four seconds back in 18.46.
All of the top three bettered or matched the winning time that was posted at the Selby CC 10 on the same course last weekend by Lewis Keightley, who also rides for Team Bottrill.
There was more success for Team Bottrill in the women’s event as their riders made up the top two once again.
Sheffield rider Karen Ledger stopped the clock at 20.38 for her 10 miles, claiming a significant victory of nearly two minutes ahead of Zoe Whiteside.
Ledger has been in excellent form across all distances, with wins at the BDCA 50 and the Merthyr CC 25, as well as two fourth place finishes in the National 50 and 100 Championships all within the last month.
There were three tandems in action too, Becky Lewis and partner Howard posting the fastest time of the day for Mid Shropshire Wheelers in a time of 17.51.
