Lyster Romero

Junior rider Lyster Romero claimed victory at the Anglia Velo 10 in Suffolk on Saturday whilst Susan Triplow took the honours in the women’s competition.

Romero (TBW Bottecchia Wigmore RT) powered to his triumph by an impressive 23-second margin, stopping the clock in a winning time of 20.20.

The 18-year-old from Ipswich has been in good form in July, adding this victory to podium finishes at both the Eastern Counties CA 25 and the Norwich ABC 10.

Team Velovelocity veteran Stuart Fairweather finished in second place in 20.43, whilst Philip Barnes (TPH Racing) completed the podium a further 15 second behind, the trio being the only three riders to dip under the 21-minute mark on the B10/35 course.

Susan Triplow

Susan Triplow was victorious in the women’s competition, the Essex Roads CC veteran recording a time of 22.32.

This was good enough for 18th place in the overall standings comprising of 50 finishers, as well as a 14-second gap over her nearest rival on the day, Denise Hurren (Sole Bay Cycle Sport).

The 50-year old from Braintree has continued to compete over a range of distances in 2017, with other wins coming over 10.2 miles at the Victoria CC event in May, and the VTTA 50 last month.

The fastest times of the day in any competition went to the Velo Schils Interbike RT tandem of Gary Pamment and Barry McDonald, who completed their 10 miles on 20.10 to claim victory.
