Young Theo Hartley put on a great performance to take victory in the Port Sunlight Wheelers 10-mile event on Saturday.

The 18-year-old, representing Identity Racing, put down a time of 22.32 on the course that ran between Farndon and Barton in Cheshire to take victory.

In a very competitive field, there was a tie for second place with Wrexham RC’s Dyfan Evans and veteran Port Sunlight Wheelers member Kevin Larmer both stopping the clock at 22.37.

Another teenager riding for Identity finished in fourth place with 17-year-old Daniel Gibson completing in 22.38, just six seconds slower than his winning team mate.

Arthur Winstanley of Liverpool Phoenix CC (Aintree) took home the veteran and veteran on standard prizes, completing in 23.51 to finish eighth overall.

With three riders in the top ten, Liverpool Phoenix CC (Aintree) took home the team prize with Toby Williams fifth in 23.00 and Neil Hughes seventh in 23.26 combining with the time of Winstanley.

Kate Giddings of Liverpool Century took home the women’s prize with a time of 26.32 and Janet Fairclough of St Helens CRC was second in 26.59. Emma Naylor of the University of Bath CC was third in 28.46.
