Luke Cornish of Cwmcarn Paragon won the 25-mile event hosted by Cardiff 100 Miles Road Club by over a minute on Saturday.
Cornish completed the course in Usk in 50.33, 1.09 quicker than second-placed Anthony Jones of Towy Racing who made it round in 51.42.
Cornish found himself on the podium last time out, finishing third in the Real Team 10 last weekend but this was his first victory since winning the Bynea CC 10 the previous week.
The event was battled over by 73 riders, a small field compared to the 100-120 that the trial usually attracts.
But for the riders that were here, conditions were warm and sunnier than expected. Although the westerly wind was not helpful on this course, there were some impressive rides.
Crystal Spearman (NOPINZ) won the women’s category in 57.14, very comfortable in first place with Arja Scarsbrook (Team Echelon) second in 1:05.21 and Helen Priest of Cardiff Ajax third in 1:06.46.
Claire and Nigel Clementson of Wigan Wheelers took the two-up prize with a time of 58.04 and the team prize was won by Northover VT with Mark Ashurst (53.28), Simon Coles (53.34) and Leigh Pinchen (57.33) combining.
