Stephen Irwin (North Lancs RC) battled against blustery conditions to clinch victory in the Preston Wheelers 25, staged on the L2521a near Cockerham in Lancashire on Sunday.
The 45-year-old from Burnley was over two minutes slower than his course record and on this occasion finished in 54 minutes and 47 seconds.
It was Irwin’s latest victory in a season which has already seen him clinch the VTTA National Championships over 15 miles.
He was also victorious in the VTTA 25 on the same course in April finishing in 53.50 on that occasion.
The windy conditions hampered riders as they were caught by the sea breeze from the Lancashire coast while completing two laps of a 12.5 miles looped circuit.
Tom Rigby (Springfield Financial) ran Irwin close but had to settle for second on this occasion finishing in 55.12.
Andrew Disley (Team KTM) won a close battle for third clocking 57.10, which was a second faster than Phil Jones (Bella in Sella).
In the women’s event Charlotte Gorman (Team Lusso) was victorious again clocking a time of 1:04.50.
Gorman showed the form which also saw her win the Halifax Imperial 21 last week.
