Veloton rider David Janes’ good season continued after a comfortable victory in the Gloucester CC hardriders 25.

The challenging course from Maisemore to Hartpury, taking in Staunton and the A417, saw the field well spread out and the top ten were separated by sizeable six and a half minute.

Jones was in a class of his own though, stopping the clock in a time if 54.09 which gave him a substantial margin of victory at one minute 47 seconds.

He has been hoovering up the podium finishes this year, adding this victory to his triumph at the Severn RC 25 in February and the WTTA hardriders 31 in March, as well as a couple of second place finished along the way.

Travis Walker (DRK Racing) was the next best on the day, he recorded a time of 55.56 to secure second place on the podium.

Veteran 40+ rider Ben Anstie (73 Degrees CC) completed the top three, claiming first in the category by two minutes from Simon Coles.

Other notable results saw fastest woman go to Joanne Jago (Performance Cycles CC), the veteran 50+ prize go to Andrew Spearman (Chippenham & District Wheelers) who finished eighth, and the first veteran 60+, Les Liddiard (Team Jewson – MI Racing) whose time of one hour three minutes exactly saw him secure a creditable 15th place overall.
