Veteran David Langlands (Team Bottrill) stormed to a convincing win in the Alford Wheelers 25-mile time trial in Lincolnshire on Sunday.
The 51-year-old from Peterborough clocked 55.35 for the C25/10 course near Skendleby, giving him the win on the day by around a minute and a half from SSLL Racing Team rival Joel Wainman, while Reece Egner (Witham Wheelers) completed the podium in third spot.
His performance makes it two out of two so far in 2017, having won the previous week’s Lincolnshire RRA 25.
Formerly of Fenland Clarion, Langlands is reaping the rewards of his switch to Team Bottrill, and hopes to continue his winning form.
Next weekend he rides the Lea Valley CC 25 in Cambridgeshire, and then will tackle the VTTA East Anglia 25 and Northampton and District CA 10 later this month, before targeting the Lincolnshire RRA two-up 30-kilometre event on May 6.
