Stuart Travis and Victoria Smith were the winners in the men’s and women’s competitions at the VC Sevale 10 at Severn Stoke on Saturday.
Travis (Team Bottrill/HSS Hire) was the clear winner on the course starting at Kinnersley and finishing at Severn Stoke.
He adds the win to his triumph in the Lea Valley CC 25 a fortnight ago, continuing his good form in March.
The time of 20.43 gave him a 37-second winning margin over Jon Simpkins (Drag2Zero) and a 53 second gap to Oliver Bent (Oxford University CC) who were second and third respectively.
Simpkins impressive time of 21.20 was enough for him to take the fastest veteran prize.
Victoria Smith (AeroCoach) was the fastest woman on the day, stopping the clock at 23 minutes 47 seconds.
This ranked Smith, who was fifth at last year’s National 10-mile Championships, 23rd place overall, eight seconds ahead of Lauren Creamer (Team Ford EcoBoost) who was second woman.
The pair of Joel Turvey and Tim Wood (Team Echelon) claimed the prize in the two-up competition, beating second place Martin Lines and Mark Thomas (Worcester St Johns CC) by 46 seconds.
Turvey and Wood stopped the clock at 21.25, a time that alone would have been good enough for third place in the individual event.
