Hurlock and Betteridge fastest in Tavistock TT
Dexter Hurlock (Kibosh) and Zoe Betteridge (Southfork Racing) took hard-earned victories at the Tavistock Wheelers 25-mile time trial in Devon on Sunday.
On a mild, moist and sometime gusty spring-like morning, 49 riders took to the start line in the South West region’s opening 25 mile time trial.
Hurlock, the 27-year-old from Saltash who won the Plymouth Corinthian 13-mile TT last month, romped home to victory recording a very fast 58.05 time on this testing course.
He was closely followed by Southfork Racing’s Mark Lees (59:38) and Team Elite/Paul Bethell Electrical’s Alex Jones (1:00:36).
Betteridge was again the first woman home, followed closely by Tavistock Wheelers’ Hannah Colston and former Olympic Modern Pentathlon silver medalist Heather Fell.
Tavistock Wheelers also claimed the team prize with a combined aggregate time of 3:06:33.
Rob Waddy of Tavistock Wheelers claimed the junior prize with Ross Holland (Cheltenham & County CC) being the fastest espoir.
Steven Sage of Southfork Racing tied with Matt Slater of Revo Racing for the veteran’s prize with Elizabeth Vernon of Tavistock Wheelers winning the category for fastest veteran women’s.
