Liam Bromiley (Cycling Sheffield-Giant) and Anna Morris (Loughborough Students CC) were the fastest male and female riders in the Bolsover and District 10-mile time trial in North Nottinghamshire on Saturday.
Bromiley, 23 and from Sheffield, clocked 20.22 to take victory on the O10/5 course near Cuckney by 32 seconds from Ian Guilor (Mapperley CC), with Steve Gibson (Peak Road Club) third, a further 12 seconds off the pace.
It was Bromiley’s first win of the year after a successful 2016 season in both time trials and hill-climbs, and surely not the last win of 2017.
For Morris, the win was a first for the 21-year-old from Cardiff. Her time of 23.05 was good enough to win the women’s category by 33 seconds from Karen Ledger (Rutland CC), with another Rutland CC rider Alex Deck being third in that category, around a minute and a half slower than Morris.
The course largely covers the A60 and heads from Cuckney up to the southern fringes of Worksop before retracing back down to Cuckney.
