Dexter Hurlock (Kibosh) and Jenny Corser (Mid-Devon CC) were the fastest male and female as Plymouth Corinthian CC staged their 13-mile time trial near Ermington in Devon on Saturday.

Hurlock, 26 and from Plymouth, clocked 28.09 for the S3/13s course, winning the event by 51 seconds after a great ride on the anti-clockwise course from Ermington, through Modbury and up to Kitterford Cross before heading back down to the start just south of Ermington on the A3121.

Second spot went to Philip Bray (Plymouth Corinthian CC), while last year’s winner Steven Sage (Southfork Racing) was third this time, and won the prize for the best veteran on standard.

Vet Jenny Corser (Mid-Devon CC) was the fastest female in a good field for the opening round of the South West Women’s Race Series, clocking 33.17 to win by 41 seconds from Emma Cockcroft (Bianchi Dama UK).

The Series features four time trials, four road races, and four criteriums through the course of the season, and looks set to be well supported.
