In-form Adam Kenway (Metaltek-Kuota) stormed to victory in South Pennine Road Club’s Chris Storer Memorial hill-climb, staged on the AHC10 at Crich in Derbyshire on Sunday.

The 29-year-old from nearby Belper clocked 1.18 for the 800-yard climb, taking the win by eight seconds from second-placed John Johnston (Claycross RT), with Elliott Harrison (Leisure Lakes Bikes) third.

It was the latest in a string of great results for Kenway, who won Sheffrec CC’s classic Monsal hill-climb as well as the Bolsover and District event at Hardwick Hall, Weaver Valley CC’s climb of the Cat n Fiddle and the opening stage of the East Lancs Road Club two-stage last month.

Hannah Pearson (Derby Mercury RC) was the fastest woman with 2.16, just nine seconds quicker than veteran woman Sally Maitland (Beeston CC), with Andrea Atkinson (Matlock CC) third fastest in that category with 2-41.

David Watson (Ride Coventry) was the pick of the veterans with 1-31 for fifth overall, and while he also won the 45-55 category, the fastest 40-44 veteran was ninth-placed Tomothy Glenie (Belper BC) with 1-43. Melvyn Roberts (South Pennine RC0 was fastest in the 56-75 age group.

Sam Walsham (Team Bike Box Alan) was the fastest junior, his time of 1-44 giving him tenth overall, while Thomas Millar (Beeston CRC) was the best under-16 rider with 1-46.
