Rowan Brackston set a new course record at the Kingston Wheelers hill climb at Leith Hill, Forest Green on Saturday, powering up the 1,570-yard incline in 3.27.50.
The Imperial College CC rider was in imperious form, beating second-placed rider William Bourne of Dulwich Paragon by 15 seconds.
Veteran rider Bill Bell (Bigfoot CC) took third place on the podium with a ride of 3.48.64, just five seconds of the pace of Bourne.
Alice Lethbridge completed the climb in a very quick 4.36.88 to take the women’s category win. Frances Bromley of Buxton CC came second in 4.57.13 and in third it was Zuzanna Kuran (Pearson CC) in 5.08.64.
Top junior rider of the day was Lewis Winfield (VC Londres) who stopped the clock at 3.57.53 to take ninth overall.
